One of the youngest members of Khambatta family, the five and half years old, Avan Khambatta is all set to become the new Rasna girl for her home venture, Rasna Group.
In a history of sort, Avan has become the first member from the Khambatta family to be a part of Rasna commercials.
The soft drink maker launched Rasna girl commercial in mid 80s for the first time. The ad was launched with Ankita Jhaveri, who is a popular south Indian actress now.
Last three decades have seen six to seven cute girls taking the role of Rasna girls. But for first time, Piruz Khambatta, the promoter of the Rs350 crore Rasna Pvt Ltd, has launched his youngest daughter Avan as the Rasna girl. The commercial has been shot with this year’s summer in mind.
The commercial made by Prahlad Kakkad also features Genelia D’souza. It was shot two weeks back, just before D’souza got married to Ritesh Deshmukh.
When asked about who is the brand ambassador, whether Genelia or Avan, Piruz said, “both”. “This product is for family. The fathers and elder males like Genelia and for them she is the brand ambassador. While the kids and mothers like young cute girls and for them, Avan is the brand ambassador,” he said.
The idea of launching Avan as the new Rasna girl had struck Piruz Khambatta two years back. But, the idea met with opposition from family. “At that time, my mother raised objections. It was a bit difficult to convince her but we all succeeded and now the film is ready,” he said. Before shooting the ad, Avan herself was a bit hesitant. “As it was her first encounter with camera, she was a bit hesitant. But you will be surprised to know that the entire commercial was shot in a day and half. Avan took few takes for two initial shots, however, third and last shot were completed in a single take.
