The passengers facing problems at the Indore airport will soon get the facilities at par with other international airports of the country. The authorities concerned are working on a plan to improve and enhance the facilities including parking, security, lighting etc at the airport.  Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey held a meeting with the officials concerned in this regard on Saturday. To increase the capacity and facilities, Director of the airport RN Shinde has been instructed to give requisition for the land required for expansion of the airport.  Discussions were held on the land allotment and availability for expansion of the airport. Dubey instructed the officers to start process for land allotment through proper channel. Dubey asked the officers of PWD to prepare a revised work plan and submit it with the Director of the airport RN Shinde so that he forwards the same to Government of India for approval. He instructed Shinde to identify the land according to his requirement and collect information related to ownership of land from the forest department with help of the chief conservator of forest. “The details of the land should be submitted at the earliest in order to conduct the inspection for further development,” instructed Dubey.   Joint secretary of civil aviation, Government of India and chief secretary of the state had held a meeting regarding land allotment for Indore airport in Bhopal on April 10. The revenue commissioner of the Indore was authorised to take initiative in this regard and take appropriate action to make the land available to the airport director. To ensure adequate security personnel for the airport, the residential buildings for the officials of the central industrial security force (CISF) will be constructed. The officers emphasised on preparing a work plan for construction of multi-level parking and multi-storeyed residential buildings in order to make maximum use of the land.
