Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the Rajya Sabha on the farewell of four MPs. During his address, PM Modi became emotional while he was praising the MPs. Along with this, he narrated the anecdote of Congress MP Ghulam Nabi Azad, when he talked to PM Modi on the phone crying. It may be noted that Ghulam Nabi Azad, Shamsher Singh, Mir Mohammad Fayaz and Nadir Ahmed's tenure in Rajya Sabha is complete.
"I am concerned that after Ghulam Nabi ji, whoever takes over this post will have a lot of trouble to match Ghulam Nabi ji. Because he used to worry about his party, but equally worried about the country and the house," the PM said.
During his address, PM Modi narrated an old anecdote and said, 'Ghulam Nabi ji was the Chief Minister of a state when I was also the Chief Minister. We were very close. Once, some passengers in Gujarat were attacked by terrorists, 8 people were killed in it. The first call I got was from Ghulam Nabi ji first and his tears were not stopping," he said.
PM Modi said, "Ghulam Nabi Azad ji, Shamsher Singh ji, Mir Mohammad Fayaz ji and Nadir Ahmed ji, I thank all four of you for your contribution to the glory of this House, your experience, your knowledge to benefit the House and the country and your solution to the problems of the region."
