PM Modi to meet Theresa PM, Queen Elizabeth in London today: Full schedule

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the UK late last night for a four-day visit where he will take part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the UK late last night for a four-day visit where he will take part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

After a "memorable" bilateral visit to Sweden and attending the first ever India-Nordic Summit, Modi arrived in London on Wednesday where he was received at the Heathrow airport by UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.

Johnson said he was "excited" about the growing India-UK bilateral trade and that the visit will help build on "huge economic advantages".

Modi held a midnight meeting Johnson at the airport, immediately after his arrival.

Modi is set for a packed day of official engagements today, starting with his bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street. Catch live updates of PM Modi's UK visit here

The two leaders are expected to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including separatism, cross-border terrorism, visas and immigration.

Here is the full schedule of PM Modi's engagement today: (All times local)

9:00-10:00 AM: Breakfast meeting with UK PM at 10 Downing Street

10:15-11:00 AM: Visit to exhibition on 5000 years of science and innovation, followed by Living Bridge themed reception (Science Musuem) in presence of Prince Charles

The event, hosted by Prince Charles, will include the launch of a new Ayurvedic Centre of Excellence, aimed at creating a first-of-its-kind global network for evidence-based research on yoga and Ayurveda.

11:10-11:15 AM: Pushpanjali at Basaveshwara's statue 

PM Modi will visit the Basaveshwara statue on the banks of the river Thames. Modi had inaugurated the statue during his last visit to the UK in 2015. 

13:25-14:40 PM: Visit to Francis Crick Institute, tour of research labs, India UK CEO Forum; Showcase of India-UK Collaboration in Science and Technology (in presence of UK PM).

This will me Modi's second meeting with May at an event hosted by the British prime minister at the Francis Crick Institute. 

After an interaction with Indian-origin scientists working on cancer research, malaria and other tropical diseases, both leaders will initiate the India-UK CEOs Forum.

4:00 PM: Audience with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace

Modi is scheduled for a private audience with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

5:00 PM: Interaction with Indian community 'Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath' 

The event will be telecast live from the iconic Central Hall Westminster in London. The event, billed as the centrepiece of the 'Living Bridge' theme of the India-UK bilateral visit, will involve Modi addressing questions from across the world which have already been received via social media.

8:00 PM: Dinner hosted by UK PM for Commonwealth leaders

Modi will join Heads of Government from 52 other Commonwealth countries at a dinner hosted by the British prime minister as a formal welcome to CHOGM.
