NEW DELHI: With the photo-identity card issue in the capital kicking up a major controversy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday said if there are any practical problems, these will be resolved.
"I do not want to go into the motives. If there are any practical problems, we will resolve them," he said on the sidelines of a function where the new CAG was sworn-in at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Singh was responding to a question on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's letter to him alleging that the decision was aimed at targeting migrants from his state.
"I have received a letter from Bihar Chief Minister. I will look into it," he said.
Kumar has written to the Prime Minister, complaining that he saw the move as a 'sinister design' to target the people from his state.
He also alleged that the 'dangerous' move making it compulsory for citizens of Delhi to carry identity proofs was to cover up the 'failure' of police and intelligence in the name of security and an attempt to turn Delhi into a 'Police state'.
