Known as the don of Saurashtra, the notorious Vishal Madam, nephew of Member of Parliament (MP) of Jamnagar Vikram Madam, was finally caught by the cops at Paldi in Ahmedabad on Friday evening. For over a year Vishal has been absconding and the crime branch of Gujarat was on the look-out for him.
"Vishal was involved in fake Indian currency notes (FICN) rackets and has links with Pakistan. Eleven years ago, in association with Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists Asif Raja Khan alias Rajan, Aftab Ansari alias Surendra Jat and other international terrorists, Vishal has kidnapped Rajkot-based promoters of Shilpa Jewellers, Bhaskar and Paresh," said detection of crime branch DCP, Himanshu Shukla.
He further said that in the past, Vishal was allegedly linked to a number of crimes. "Vishal has been involved in murders, kidnapping, trading of fake currency among others," said Shukla.
Vishal was wanted for three different crime cases. "He is wanted for a murder in Jamanagar, kidnapping in Rajkot and another case of attempted murder. Apart from these, he was also involved in an angadia loot case," informed Shukla.
Crime branch sources said that they will now hand him over to the Jamnagar police.
