Police today recorded the statements of staff and guests of two prominent city bars, including son of city police commissioner YS Dadwal, in connection with the controversial week-end brawl allegedly involving Jessica Lal murder case convict Manu Sharma.

Investigators went to F-Bar and LAP Lounge Bar in Chanakyapuri area during the day and recorded the statements of staff and some guests who were present on Saturday when the brawl took place.

Sources said the crime branch team which is probing the matter have recorded the statement of Pranay Dadwal, son of Delhi police chief, on whose call the police had detained businessman Sahil Dingra who allegedly misbehaved with some women there.

The issue became a controversy as it came to light that Sharma allegedly violated parole norms.

Police had gone to the LAP bar following a complaint against Dingra, who allegedly picked up a brawl with Pranay. Dhingra was reportedly accompanied by Sharma.

Investigators are also probing allegations by Samir Thapar, vice president and managing director of JCT Ltd, that he was taken into custody from LAP Lounge Bar on Saturday illegally.

Sharma was granted parole in September but he returned to the Tihar jail on Monday on his own 12 days before his parole was to expire following mounting criticism that he violated norms under which he was granted the benefit.
