For early risers, 59-year-old V Vaithilingam, Chief Minister of the Union Territory, cycling through the thoroughfares between 5 am to 6 am is a familiar sight.
What is striking is that there is no security personnel or other paraphernalia that is usually associated with a VVIP as Vaithilingam,attired in khadi clothes,starts his bicycling exercise from his residence in the heart of the town.
A pedestrian said the chief minister bicycles regularly.
