The Delhi Metro has submitted footage from CCTV cameras and other internal probe details to the police in connection with an incident in which a pornographic clip was played on an LED screen at Rajiv Chowk station here.
The clip was played on one of the screens of a giant video wall, a grid of 12 LED screens, on April 9. While some commuters could be seen passing by it without noticing, some of them filmed it on their mobile phones. The incident had left the country's premier transporter embarrassed, promoting it to launch a probe into the incident on April 15.
"The DMRC has submitted the investigation and other details along with CCTV camera footage of the incident for further investigation into the matter to the police," a DMRC official said.
A Delhi Police official said, "We have received the footage from the DMRC and it is being examined. In the footage, some suspects are visible but the Metro authorities haven't pinpointed any particular person. We will be speaking to them in detail and try to get more details." The 30-second-long amateur video has been circulating on social media and had gone viral earlier this month.
Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, located at Connaught Place in central Delhi, falls on the busy intersection of Blue Line and Yellow Line of the metro network, and receives a heavy footfall daily.
