Ram Lal, according to sources, on Monday night conveyed to Singh that concerns should be raised in party fora and discussed within party, instead of being aired in public or before the media.

With the dust yet to settle down after its Bihar debacle, the BJP has begun the process of trying to rein in its sulking MPs. Party general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal had a 90-minute meeting with Arrah MP RK Singh, who had made controversial statements on the party's strategy in the state elections.

Ram Lal, according to sources, on Monday night conveyed to Singh that concerns should be raised in party fora and discussed within party, instead of being aired in public or before the media.

Singh had alleged that the party had given tickets to known criminals in Bihar. He is understood to have complained to the party leader that tickets were not distributed properly. However, the party leader asked why others had also lost, sources said.

"It is unfortunate that popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given tickets. This is the reason party workers got angry," Singh had said adding that the party is weakening its position in Bihar by playing dirty politics.

Another party MP from Bihar Shatrughan Sinha has also been attacking the party openly. However, the party is unlikely to take stringent action against the MPs as it would not like to precipitate matters further, sources said. The BJP leadership has come under attack from party veterans after the Bihar defeat.
