Ambedkar has accused the Centre of using his name to create trouble

Denying that he had called for a hartal on August 15 against the burning of pages of the Constitution at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's grandson Prakash Ambedkar alleged that the government and the Sangh Parivar were trying to spark off conflagrations using his name.

"I know that the present government is a dangai government (one that wants to foment riots). It wants to ensure rioting of all kinds. However, since riots are not breaking out, hence, they are using my name to create trouble," said Ambedkar, while denying social media posts which claimed he had called for a bandh on Independence Day to mark it as a "black day."

Ambedkar who is a former Lok Sabha MP and heads the Bharatiya Republican Paksha- Bahujan Mahasangh (BRP-BMS) said any call for such protests on Independence Day was not correct and asked people to not believe such posts.
