Pranab Mukherjee makes light of opposition walkout

The Union finance minister said the opposition had done the same thing on previous occasions as well.

Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today made light of the Opposition walkout in the Lok Sabha during the passage of the Appropriation Bill, 2010, and expressed happiness that UPA allies "solidly" stood by the government.
    
"...I am happy that the entire UPA solidly stood by us," Mukherjee told reporters after the passage of the crucial Bill in the lower House.
    
To a question on the walkout by the opposition for his decision against rollback of prices of petroleum products, the minister said they have done this on previous occasions too.
    
"They did this earlier also, so what?" he said.
     
Lok Sabha voted the Appropriation Bill, 2010, enabling withdrawal of Rs8,35,637 crore from the Consolidated Fund for vote-on-account expenditure for the first three months of next fiscal.
