A pregnant woman labourer and her three children were electocuted to death while working on a construction site in Danilimda area of the city today, police said.
The incident took place when Leela Rathod (35) was sitting on a pile of iron rods used for construction, at a site in Chirag Park Society, they said, adding that her three children-sons, Karam (9) and Pakka (2), and daughter Sonal (4), where also sitting besides her.
According to police, due to short-circuit in an electric wire which was in contact with the pile of iron rods, Leela and her three children were electrocuted and died on the spot.
Police said that on primary investigation it appears to be an accident but further questioning of witnesses was on to ascertain the cause of the short-circuit which resulted in death of the four persons.
