Priyanka Gandhi today took a dig at Narendra Modi for invoking a Kargil martyr's slogan of 'Yeh dil maange more' to pitch for 300 seats for NDA, saying while the BJP leader does not get tired of asking for votes from people, the Congress seeks to empower them.

Sitting among women while campaigning for her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka said, "I read in newsPaper there is a leader from a political party who says 'yeh dil mange more'.

He is asking for it again and again. He does not get tired" As her remarks drew laughter from the women, she said, "But we are saying we do not want anything from you. We want you to become vigilant, realise your potential and be empowered."

"We have a special connection with you. We are here because you love us, otherwise we are nothing without you," Priyanka, clad in a green sari, said.

During an election rally in Palampur in Himanchal Pradesh yesterday, Modi repeatedly referred to the famous quote of Kargil martyr Vikram Batra "Yeh dil mange more" in his home town. His statement was disapproved by the soldier's family and attacked by political rivals.

Batra, who fought the 1999 Kargil war, was awarded Param Vir Chakra (PVC), the highest military honour, posthumously.
