On the second day of her three-day boat trip inside Uttar Pradesh, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited a slew of religious places: the Vindhyavasini Devi Temple in Mirzapur, the Maharishi Valmiki Ashram at Sitamarhi, Maa Vindhyavasini Mandir Vindhyachal Dham and the Khwaja Ismail Chisti in Mirzapur.
However, critics have observed that Priyanka's poll rally has not gathered the momentum that it should have. Pro-Modi slogans were raised by BJP supporters gathered outside Vindhyavasini Devi Temple in Mirzapur as Priyanka Gandhi offered prayers. The sloganeering began as Priyanka Gandhi got out of the car to visit the temple and continued even as she entered it to pray.
Gandhi took on Modi and demanded to know what he had done in the last five years. She also slammed the Yogi Adityanath govt in UP.
She also slammed the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh and said that she has been meeting people and all of them are in distress. "Report card, promotions, all of it sounds good but there's nothing on ground, I'm meeting people every day, all the people are in distress. They need to come to the ground to see the reality. There is a big difference between poll promises and fulfilling them. As far as the rant about no development in 70 years is concerned, it has an expiry date," she told reporters.
Earlier, Adityanath said at a press conference at the state BJP headquarters that the state has become a better place and crime has gone down since his government came to power.
