The novel ‘Azadina Jangno Adivasi Rang: 17 November 1913; Mangadh Hatya Kand’ written by Prof Arun Vaghela was released on Saturday at Gujarat Vidyapith.
The book, written in Gujarati, focuses on instances of the tribal movement that took place in 1913 and the details of the tribal movement of that time. “I was inspired to write the book after constant interaction with the tribal community during my school days,” the author said.
According to Vaghela, it took him almost seven years to complete the book. “Detailed information about the movement was taken before penning down the instances in a book form. When I was going through the archives in Delhi and Mumbai, I came across some touching instances which I felt should spread to the mass through the form of a book,” said
Vaghela.
Chief guests present at the occasion were historian Makrand Mehta and activist Achyut Upadhyay.
