Congress today said patience is needed on the issue of implementation of Rangnath Mishra Commission report.

Congress today said patience is needed on the issue of implementation of Rangnath Mishra Commission report that recommended reservation for Muslims and other minorities and favoured Scheduled Caste (SC) status to Dalits in all religions.

"A Committee report has to be studied, processed, absorbed and then a decision taken as to how much of it can be accepted. This is naturally a long process and we have to be patient and await a proper analysis," party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.

The spokesperson's statement came after the report was tabled on the last day of the winter session today, which gave enough hints that its implementation was unlikely to be a hasty affair despite UPA friendly party RJD threatening agitation if the recommendations are not implemented.
