Pulwama Attack: Suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar hailed from Kakapora

The suicide bomber who rammed his vehicle into the CRPF convoy is Adil Ahmad Dar (21) alias Vikas, who joined Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed last year in April. Adil, who hailed from Kakapora, South Kashmir's Pulwama district recorded a video before ramming his vehicle into the CRPF convoy that killed 44 soldiers.
Dar is the second local Kashmiri suicide bomber. Aafaq Shah of Srinagar was the first suicide bomber who detonated an explosive-laden vehicle outside the Army's 15 Corps headquarters at Badami Bagh Srinagar in 2000.
"When you receive this video I will be enjoying in the paradise of the Almighty Allah. Oh Kashmiri people, salute to you that despite seeing lakhs of dead bodies, you did not lose heart," said Adil in the 10-minute video which was released by JeM.
Police sources said Adil was a class X pass out who joined JEM in April 2018. After discontinuing his studies, Adil worked at a saw mill before joining JeM. Since he was not involved in bigger attacks he was listed as a "C" category terrorist. "I joined the Jaish fidayeen squad last year. Time has now come to fulfil my promise," Adil said in the video.
His brother Arif Ahmad said that they had no information about Adil after he left them. Adil's father is a vendor who goes door to door to sell his merchandise. He has two brothers and a sister.
"We have given you deep wounds in the past. From IC 814 to Parliament attack to Badambi Bagh attack to Tangdhar and Nagrota to Pulwama police lines attack. There are many nightmares which will continue to give you sleepless nights," said Adil, referring to past terror attacks.
This is the second time, JeM has used local fidayeens to target security forces since 2017. A group of fidayeen stormed a CRPF base at Lethpora in December 3, 2017 leaving five CRPF men dead.
