Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who is on a two-day India visit, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday.
The Emir arrived in the national capital at the Palam Air Force Base on Tuesday, where he was received by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Qatar Ambassador to India Ahmed Ibrahim al-Abdullah and India Ambassador to Qatar Sanjeev Arora, along with several other senior officials.
According to reports, the Emir is accompanied by a high-level delegation of Qatari Ministers, as well as captains of industry.
Prior to Emir's arrival, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that India and Qatar will look to increase commercial and economic exchanges, with special focus on the 'Make in India' initiative as well as the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar.
