AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has urged finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to make special provision for youths and allocate funds for the food security programme in the Union Budget. The Gandhi scion called on Mukherjee at his residence on Friday.The finance minister has been interacting with various stakeholders as a part of a pre-Budget exercise and two days ago, Rahul rang him up and sought an appointment. On Friday he drove to Mukherjee’s Tughlak Road residence and spent more than 30 minutes with him. After the meeting, he went inside and enquired after the health of Mukherjee’s ailing wife.Rahul has been travelling across the country interacting with young people, urging them to join politics and help clean the system.  He has also begun leveraging his position in the party to try and get the government to initiate special schemes for the youth.
