Rahul Gandhi, Omar Abdullah meet to discuss Congress-NC coalition in J&K

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi Tuesday met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Sringar and discussed the functioning of the Congress-NC coalition government in the state.

"Rahul and Omar had a breakfast meeting this morning and the two leaders discussed the functioning of the coalition government and various developmental matters within the state and at the national level," an official spokesman said.

Rahul arrived in Srinagar on Monday on a two-day visit to the state and held a series of meetings with students, youths, panches and sarpanches, party leaders besides addressing a public meeting at Kargil in the frontier region of Ladakh.

Talking to media persons last evening, the Congress leader said he had come to Kashmir to launch the membership drive of the Youth Congress and to bring the youth into the political system.

"I had a very nice interaction with students at Kashmir University. I also interacted with panches and sarpanches and the youth here. I am proud of what I heard during the interactions," he had said.
