Widespread rains lashed many parts of Haryana and Punjab for the second consecutive day today, providing relief to people from sultry weather conditions.

Chandigarh received 22.4 mm of rainfall till 8.30am today.
 
In Haryana, Nuh recorded maximum rainfall at 56 mm, followed by Bhiwani (49.2 mm), Jhajjar (26 mm), Narnaul (23 mm) and Rohtak (20.6 mm).
 
In Punjab, Muktsar recorded maximum rainfall at 59.1mm, followed by Batala (31 mm), Anandpur Sahib (29 mm) and Malerkotla (25 mm).
 
The maximum temperatures in the two states and Chandigarh dropped by up to five degrees below normal range yesterday after the rains.
 
The Met has forecast more rains in the region for tomorrow.
