Rajasthan records heavy rains

Jaipur recorded a maximum rainfall of about 1.5 cms.

Moderate to heavy rains lashed almost the entire Rajasthan with Shergarh in Jodhpur district receiving the maximum rainfall of 14 cms till this morning.

South-west monsoons were active over the state specially the north-west-south covering Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Pali, Sirohi, Tonk, Jaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Banswara, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh districts in last 24 hours, the Meteorological department said in Jaipur.

Ghatol and Kushalgarh recorded a maximum rainfall of 10 cms each followed by Bagidora, Sajjangarh, Luni and Jaswantpur which received 9 cms each. Satopla and Mount Abu received 8 cms each, Sindari, Lohana, Revdhar, Pratapgarh 7 cms each, Jagpur, Kotada, Marwar junction, Gudha 6 cms each while Ramgarh, Chaksu, Jodhpur and Pokhran 5 cms each.

Apart from this, one to four cms of rainfall was reported at many places in these districts.

Jaipur recorded a maximum rainfall of about 1.5 cms.

The current spell of rains will continue next week too in the state, they said.
