Seeing the rise in prices of essential commodities, people are also anxious to know the financial management of the country in the wake of a number of scams that have surfaced and therefore the government should bring out a white paper on the subject," Singh told reporters.

Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh has said the UPA government should come out with a "white paper" on the country's financial position in the wake of a series of scams that have been surfacing.

"There has been a significant rise in prices of essential commodities and there is an urgent need to control them. People are also anxious to know the financial management of the country in the wake of a number of scams that have surfaced and therefore the government should bring out a white paper on the subject," Singh told reporters here last night.

The former BJP president, who yesterday toured parts of Vidarbha and interacted with farmers affected by the land acquisitions for government and private sector projects, said his party would force the ruling alliance to take up the land acquisition bill in the monsoon session of parliament.
