Rajnath Singh reaches Srinagar to visit flood-hit areas

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reached Srinagar to take a tour of flood-hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir today.

He is accompanied by Minister of State (PMO) and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh.

The senior officials of Home Ministry accompanying Singh include Secretary (Border Management), Sneh Lata Kumar and Additional Director General, National Disaster Response Force.

The Home Minister is also scheduled to hold a review meeting with Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah on the progress of rescue and relief efforts at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre at Srinagar.

After the meeting with State administration, the Home Minister will undertake an aerial survey of flood affected areas.

Later in the day, the union Home Minister, along with MoS (PMO), will fly to Jammu to conduct an aerial survey of flood affected areas of Jammu region.

Before his return to Delhi in the evening, Singh will, along with his team, hold a review meeting with Divisional Commissioner, Jammu on the progress of flood rescue and relief efforts in Jammu region.
