Newly elected independent candidate from Hatkangle Lok Sabha constituency, Raju Shetty today attributed his victory to the people. "My victory is common people's victory and defeat of
leaders of Kolhapur district, as not single one of them
supported me," he said.
Shetkari Sanghtana leader and only sitting MLA of his
organisation from Shirol taluka, Shetty came in focus after
his agitation for Supported Minimum Price (SMP) to sugarcane
growers in the district.
"I will raise the farmers' issues in Parliament and
try to give justice to them," he said. When asked which party he was going to support, he said,"I have not taken any decision to whom I will support. I will declare my next step after consulting with my
supporters."
