BJP ally Republican Party of India (A) is ready to pass three resolutions during its national convention on March 16 in New Delhi.
“We are going to adopt three resolutions that include 25 per cent reservation for the economically backward among the upper castes, five acres of land with a house to every Dalit household, and a slum protection policy to protect slumdwellers from being evicted for a project before being given alternate houses,” said Ramdas Athawale, RPI(A) chief.
His party will press for these demands in Parliament, said Athawale, adding that he has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on these issues.
Athawale also said his party is keen to have reservation for scheduled castes in the private sector, which has become all the more important as most government works are being taken over by private companies.
