Reserve Bank of India governor Shakti Kanta Das tests positive for COVID-19

Das tweeted that he has tested positive for coronavirus and that he is asymptomatic.

Reserve Bank of India governor Shakti Kanta Das on Sunday (October 25, 2020) tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Das took to Twitter to confirm the news.

Das tweeted that he has tested positive for coronavirus and that he is asymptomatic. He said that he is feeling alright and has gone into isolation from where he might continue doing some work.   

He wrote: "I have tested COVID-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Feeling very much alright. Have alerted those who came in contact in recent days. Will continue to work from isolation. Work in RBI will go on normally. I am in touch with all Deputy Governors and other officers through VC and telephone."

Das urged people who came in contact with hin recently to get themselves checked and take precautionary measures.

According to the latest data available, coronavirus cases in India crossed the 78-lakh mark on Sunday (October 25). In the last 24 hours, 50,129 new COVID-19 cases were also reported.
