He objected to government's statement that that anti-national forces that were fomenting trouble in Sopore were linked to Pakistan-based Laskar-e-Taiba.

Independent MLA Sheikh Abdul Rasheed today accused the Centre of ignoring ground realities in Kashmir and demanded that a dialogue be initiated with militant groups.

"Its unfortunate that everything that happens in Kashmir, Government of India sees Pakistani hand in it, which tantamount to ignoring the ground realities of Kashmir," he said.

He objected to government's statement that that anti-national forces that were fomenting trouble in Sopore were linked to Pakistan-based Laskar-e-Taiba.

Rasheed, who represent Langate assembly constituency, said that unless the Kashmir issue is resolved "on the basis of justice and reconciliation by taking into consideration aspirations of people of J&K and a dialogue with militants, the ground situation will not change in Kashmir".

"Deployment of army and imposition of curfew will never resolve the problem," he said.
