The resumption of cricket matches between India and Pakistan is an insult to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 terror attack, Maharashtra BJP president Sudhir Mungantiwar said in Mumbai on Tuesday.
"There is a tremendous anger among the general public against Pakistan's role in fomenting terror in India and this decision to resume the cricket ties is against that sentiment," Mungantiwar told reporters at Vidhan Bhawan.
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has been saying that there is a direct role of Pakistan in terror acts against India, he said.
How can one ignore views of such a senior minister? he asked.
The sentiments of the common man on the issue should be taken into account, Mungantiwar said.
India and Pakistan are scheduled to play a bilateral series in India in December.
