A huge consignment of fake Indian currency with a face value of rupees six crores and banned drugs from Pakistan was today seized in Bangladesh at the airport here.
Customs officials at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport recovered the fake Indian notes with a face value of Rs 6 crores and banned drugs.
The huge consignment of fake Indian Rupee notes, contained in a large carton, was seized from the cargo lounge around noon, Deputy Director of the Customs Intelligence Department Mustafizur Rahman was quoted as saying by the BD news portal.
The official said the fake money and drugs arrived from Pakistan.
The officials seized the carton arriving with the Qatar Airways cargo and recovered the fake Indian money and banned drugs.
No person was arrested in connection with the large haul.
"We are investigating the matter," Rahman said.
