Social media has been abuzz with the image of Rashtriya Samaj Party leader and MLA Mahadev Jankar touching the feet of self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa.
According to a report in Marathi daily Divya Marathi, Jankar had visited Radhe Maa's house in Borivali, Mumbai along with a few of his acquaintances. RSP's leader in Gujarat Yamini Panchal and Mumbai chief Ashok Panchal too had tagged along with the leader.
Jankar was photographed touching the feet of Radhe Maa as the controversial personality was sitting on her throne.
Jankar has been crucial in turning votes of Dhangar community in BJP's favour. According to media reports, he was promised a ministership for his achievement. But even after three sessions of assembly, the Fadnavis-led government has not made good on that promise.
According to rumour mills, it is being said that Jankar visted Radhe Maa in order to seek her blessing in the quest for the post in the Fadnavis cabinet.
Mahadev Jankar, while talking to dna, said, "I am not a bhakt of Radhe Maa. My office-bearers took me to her birthday-related function. Neither am I connected to her in any way, nor do I know of anything about her."
He also denied of having any knowledge of the various allegations of criminal activity, black magic, and superstitions levelled against the self-proclaimed godwoman.
