Hafiz Saeed, mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack has criticised Indian politicians and called them narrow-minded after the uproar in the Rajya Sabha on Monday over his meeting with Indian journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik.
Saeed took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to air his views. “Row in Indian parliament over a journalists meeting with us shows the extremism, narrow mindedness of their politicians. Utterly Shameful,” he tweeted. Sadly, so-called 'secular' India is unable to bear an informal meeting with a journalist, he added.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice on Monday during Question Hour over the reported meeting of a journalist considered close to yoga guru Ramdev. Though the government clarified that it had nothing to do with it, Congress members sought a detailed statement on the purpose and motive behind the meeting with India's most wanted terrorist.
Saeed claimed in his tweets that during the meeting with the journalist, they discussed “how all 26/11 evidences provided by India have been rejected” and also asked him “why India does not respect Pakistani courts”.
Meanwhile, Vaidik also defended himself saying he meets all kinds of people and it was a "simple thing" for him. "Journalists in Pakistan know me for decades. They made a gesture (about meeting Saeed) to me and I said alright I will meet him. It was no big deal for me. It was a simple thing.”
When asked if he would protest Modi's visit to Pakistan, Saeed claims he told the journalist "We don't participate in such 'politics & protests". “We meet everyone with an open heart, whoever wants to meet; regardless of nation, belief or religion,” Saeed tweeted further.
