Sekhar Basu, renowed scientist and chief executive, Nuclear Recycle Board of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), has taken over as director of BARC from Ratan Kumar Sinha.
A BARC release said on Saturday that the appointment was made on June 19.
It said that Sinha has been appointed chairman of Atomic Energy Commission and secretary to the department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
During past 36 years, Basu held various important assignments of the BARC in several areas encompassing nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel cycle technologies and contributed immensely towards its programmes.
