Rejecting the magisterial probe into the killing of three youths allegedly in a fake encounter by security forces, hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani today appealed to UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon to get the matter investigated.
"We appeal to the UN secretary general to help in getting the matter investigated by the War Crime Tribunal," Geelani, lodged in a police station, said in a statement here.
The chairman of the Hurriyat Conference hardline faction asked the Kashmir Bar Association to file an FIR in connection with the killing of the youths on April 30 at Nadihal-Rafiabad.
Rejecting the magisterial probe ordered by the state government, Geelani said "no independent inquiry has been conducted in similar cases earlier."
The Hurriyat hawk appealed to the Amnesty International to take note of the incident.
