Sivaganga, Lok Sabha Constituency: Candidate list for 2019 LS Poll, past results, all updates

The Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies going to vote in Tamil Nadu. The vote will be cast during the 2nd phase on April 18 and counting will be done on May 23.

The Lok Sabha seat was created post delimitation in 2009 and has over 1,090,000 voters.

The sitting MP is PR Senthilnathan of AIADMK who beat Dhurai Raaj Subha of DMK by a margin of 229385 votes in 2014. Raja H of BJP came third.
In 2009, the seat was won by Congress heavyweight and former union minister P Chidambaram who beat AIADMK’s Raja Kannappan.

In 2019, it’s a direct fight between Congress and BJP as P Chidamabaram’s son Karti and BJP’s  H Raja

All seats in Tamil Nadu are going to vote on April 18. They are Arakkonam, Arani, Chennai Central, Chennai North, Chennai South, Chidambaram, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Kallakurichi, Kancheepuram, Kanniyakumari, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Perambalur, Pollachi, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Sivaganga , Sriperumbudur, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Thoothukkudi, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Viluppuram, Virudhunagar, Tiruvallur.

There’s an interesting battle on the cards with an AIADMK-led NDA alliance with the BJP, PMK, DMDK, Puthiya Neethi Katchi and Puthiya Tamizhagam.  Meanwhile the Congress has forged alliances with DMK, two communist parties and other regional parties. Smaller partners include VCK, IUML and KMK.

The AIADMK under Jayalalithaa had managed to win 37 seats, with BJP and PMK getting 1 each. The Congress and the DMK ended up with zero seats in 2014.
