Forest department officials arrested six persons for allegedly hunting spotted deer in Rajapalayam, about 25 kms from here, and carrying with them its horns and venison.
Officials who were on a patrolling duty in Asaymani forest area yesterday saw some persons moving around under suspcious circumstance with a jute bag.
On checking, they found that the bag contained venison and horns besides some knives and sickles. All of them were remanded to judicial custody, police said.
