Six Bangladeshi nationals, including three women, have been arrested for entering into Indian territory without passport, police today said.
The Bangladeshis were moving suspiciously near the Chandrapur Motor Stand here yesterday and did not have proper travel documents, the sources said.
During interrogation, they stated that they entered the country through Sabroom border in South Tripura district and wanted to participate in a Buddhist religious function --Kathinchibar dan -- in North Tripura district.
Police said all the Bangladeshis belonged to Mog community of Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.
They were identified as Kayamriayong Mog (59), Ulhmanga Mog (58), Barmasing Mog (57), Makfeiro Mog (62), Sanyyo Mog (61) and Lathuiamong Mog (62).
