Will the government make it clear if slow learners are also a part of the revised concessions, ask experts.
Although State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education chairman Gangadhar Mhamane has claimed that slow learners too come under the learning disability (LD) category, some experts feel that the word slow learner seems to be nowhere in the GR issued on January 8.
"The slow learners are also covered under LD. The facilities that LD will get will also be given to slow learners. There is no need of issuing a separate circular for that," clarified Mhamane.
Till now, slow learners were getting 20 minutes more to write their board papers. However, they were not given writers but now they can avail that facility. Last year, when a slow learner HSC student was denied a writer, he approached the Supreme Court and got relief. He passed with flying colours.
