Former president APJ Abdul Kalam, in an interaction with students, during his visit to the city on Wednesday said that thinking big and aiming high in life was crucial to success.
"I will have a goal and work hard to achieve the goal. I realise small goal is a crime. This should be the motto to achieve success," Kalam told students after inaugurating a 'Arts and Science Centre' at Balbhavan here.
Addressing students and a large gathering at the Centre in Race Course, Kalam, who began his speech in Gujarati, said, "my Gujarati is good and I am delighted to dedicate this Centre to the children. Gujarat is my favourite place because my guru Vikram Sarabhai belonged to this state."
The noted scientist, known as the 'missile man' answered many queries on corruption, human cloning, space and missiles during the interaction.
On Indian economy, he said that a continous GDP rate of 10 per cent will propel India to the list of developed nations.
He also paid homage to late Jawaharlal Nehru on his 44th death anniversary today. Kalam is scheduled to attend various programmes in the city.
