An alleged narcotics smuggler was arrested and 900gm of heroin worth Rs90lakh was recovered from his possession in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Thursday.
On a tiff off, police intercepted Abdul Hamid Bhat at Gungali Gali in Gool area of Ramban district on Wednesday, they said.
During frisking, they recovered a packet containing 900gm of heroin from him, they said, adding the consignment was seized and the accused arrested.
In a separate incident, police arrested a car driver and seized 945gm of poppy straw from his possession in Rajouri district.
On specific information, police intercepted the car, which was on its way from Jammu to Rajouri, at Lakkar Mandi area of Rajouri district last evening, they said.
During checking, police recovered 945gm of poppy straw and arrested the car driver Vinod Kumar.
Both the accused have been booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they said.
