The panel discussion on Media and Culture: The Connects and Disconnects saw Madhu Kishwar, Shehzad Poonawalla, Sree Iyer, Tarak Fateh and Shaina NC put forth their views.

The moderator, Kunal Majumder said, "The journalists look at the prism in a west way and media has confined it's position by aligning to one side of political view." He also addressed the lack of proper business model in media as it focuses mainly on urban cities and not the ground reality.

Madhu keshwar went ahead by calling media as mainstream and in her view social media is connecting with people with culture. She pointed out that, it's not media's fault as our education system determines us to keep history hidden and political.

Keshwar went to an extent by calling Hindu civilisation a terrorised and wounded civilisation. To support her statement, she quoted an example of the whole conflict over women's entry in Sabrimala temple in Kerala.

On the other hand, Shaina NC put forward a different view by pointing out that there are over 400 news channels and over a lakh media publications in India. She pleaded to the audience to understand that what they read isn't necessarily the ideology of the journalist as to the prostitution of media and journalism has led them to sell their ideologies in times of opportunities.

The long debated discussion was concluded by an interactive Q&A session wherein questions from the audience were posed to the panel.
