Actor Rahul Bose has made a name in films as well as social service. In addition to starring in films like Jhankaar Beats, A Mouthful of Sky and Mr and Mrs Iyer, the actor has worked on a number of social service projects, including creating a foundation for underprivileged children in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands after the tsunami struck there.

“I cannot do without either of them. Acting is about passion while social service is all about compassion. For me, both form equally essential parts of my life,” he said.

Bose was recently appointed brand ambassador for the ‘Design for Giving’ competition. Talking about the event, he said, “If I have to describe the ‘Design for Giving’ competition in one word, all that I would say is ‘change’. I want to ensure that all students across India have the opportunity to change the world as they want to see it.”

The actor makes sure that he finds the time for his social service activities. “It is all about your mental ability. I cannot get myself to act without being involved in any kind of social activities. For example, today I am overloaded with film shoots and promotions. But I still take out at least 25 per cent of my time for social service activities. And hence, I am here in Ahmedabad,” Bose said.
