A son has killed his father for a paltry sum which he wanted to grab from the sale of a buffalo.

PATNA: A son has killed his father for a paltry sum which he wanted to grab from the sale of a buffalo.

Sixty-year old Sudeshwar Ram was strangled to death allegedly by Lal Babu, one of his three sons, and his body dumped in the fodder yard, deputy superintendent of police (Fulwarisharif) Dilnawaz Ahmad said.

His decomposed body was recovered by the police from the fodder yard of his house at Nagwan village in rural Patna on Sunday.

The son had picked up a quarrel with his father over sharing of money from the sale of a buffalo for Rs 7,500.

Lal Babu wanted to grab the entire sale proceeds whereas the father wanted to distribute it equally among all his sons, he said.

"Preliminary investigation suggests that he was killed in his sleep on the night of February 16", he said.

Lal Babu and his wife were absconding after the incident, he said.

Raids were continuing to apprehend the couple, Ahmad added.
