Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday night welcome the government's decision to honour former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and late freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malaviya with Bharat Ratna. "I welcome the decision to confer Bharat Ratna to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Madan Mohan Malaviya", she said.
Vajpayee, whose consensual politics found acceptability across the political spectrum, and Malaviya werepicked for the country's highest civilian honour.
