Spirituality: The inner journey

Everyone seems to be on a spiritual path seeking answers, something which unites all despite their religion, beliefs and faith

When something grabs the attention of people, it soon becomes the lingo of the town. That is what has happened with spirituality too. Everyone seems to be on the spiritual path or claims to be spiritual. It is said to be something everyone shares keeping aside religion, race or nationality.

It is a common factor binding humanity. But what exactly is spirituality? What does it mean to be a spiritual person? Wikipedia defines it as something bigger than oneself, a human experience that touches one and all. There are various perspectives to spirituality. For a religious person, spirituality could be offering prayers and doing the daily rituals. For some, it could be appreciating and bowing down to nature. But the most popular perception of spirituality is that of finding the meaning of life.

This question has nagged humans since the beginning. We have come a long way from being nomads in caves to intellectuals in skyscrapers. Our pursuit of finding a meaning in life has led us to amazing discoveries and inventions.

We believed that pursuing material needs would give us a purpose in life and while it has made us work hard to aim for the best, our question about what really is the meaning of life has not been answered.

Rich or poor, no matter what our economic status, there is a sense of dissatisfaction that gnaws at you. No matter what, something does not seem right. All those times we went running behind an external object, thinking may be that would be the solution to this unhappiness but only to then console ourselves and look elsewhere. The answer to our question is right with us.

Spirituality is that journey which will lead us to happiness, the very purpose of life. It is the journey that would grant us the most important thing in our life, yet we know so little about it.  True happiness is a state where in we don’t need to rely on how much money we earn or the recognition we get to be happy, it’s a state, where in, we can be happy without a condition.

A happy human being is the best version of a human being as he would be more efficient, inspired and determined in achieving his goals rather than a sad, inefficient and a fearful version of himself.

Happiness is the road less travelled but the shortcut to success in career, relationships and life itself. If you are wondering why am I rambling about happiness and what is so special about seeking happiness, it is because a happy individual knows himself. He is in touch with his hurts, anxiety, fears as well as his likes, dislikes and wants.

He does not hide from his feelings or turn indifferent to them. He has clarity on everything about himself. Such integrity and clarity about ourselves would help us take conflict free and doubt free decisions.

A stress free life where we don’t need to deal with conflicts within us. It is a place where we are completely in acceptance of all the good, bad and worst about us. It is a place where we are happy with ourselves. When we take this explorative journey inside, our external world too changes. Positivity, opportunities, love and happiness become a reality.

Spirituality is a journey we take alone to uncover the mysteries within us and discover happiness. It is the most wonderful journey with no travel expenses.  So are you ready to be happy? Are you joining the trip of spirituality?
