Steve Jobs admired Mahatmi Gandhi and his principles, and was his choice for the person of the century.

The world is mourning the death of Steve Jobs, co-founder, chairman and former chief executive of Apple Inc. Jobs, who will always be remembered as an innovator par excellence, had an interesting take on Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

For Jobs, Gandhiji was a creative personality who taught the world a moral way to be aggressive. When asked by Time magazine about his choice for the person of the century in the year, 1999, Jobs replied, "Mohandas Gandhi is my choice for the Person of the Century because he showed us the way out of the destructive side of our human nature."

In the same interview, Jobs said, "Gandhi demonstrated that we can force change and justice through moral acts of aggression instead of physical acts of aggression. Never has our species needed this wisdom more."

The co-founder of Apple who also sported round glasses like Mahatma Gandhi's, used Bapu's image in his campaign 'Think Different'. About the campaign, Jobs said, "Think different celebrates the soul of Apple brand that creative people with passion can change the world for better."
