After a gap of almost four years, work at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas temple workshop restarted today with carving of stones for the proposed Ram temple at Ayodhya.
Chairman of the Nyas Mahant Nritya Gopaldas and VHP international general secretary Dinesh Chandra handed over stones to workers for carving after rituals, VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma said.
The work for carving of stones for the proposed Ram temple had started in 1990 and continued till 2007, he said.
The spokesperson said the Mahant demanded that a resolution be passed in Parliament paving the way for construction of Ram temple like the Somnath temple.
Mahant said almost 65 per cent stones had already been carved and the remaining work would be completed soon.
