The strike by junior doctors of state-run MGM hospital here entered the second day today.
None of the 80 striking doctors, including 40 resident ones, reported for duty in their departments, including the emergency and maternity ward, Dr Sanjiv Rakesh, spokesman of the doctors association here, said.
The doctors are demanding implementation of the sixth pay commission scale.
Dr Rakesh said their demand for clearance of three months outstanding stipend was also unfulfilled despite several reminders.
Superintendent of the hospital, Prof. AN Mishra said the strike did not affect normal functioning of the hospital.
"We are currently scrutinising whether alternative arrangement is needed to meet the situation," he said.
