Sushil Modi's tweet thanking BJP for support and cooperation sparks speculations

The former deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Modi shared the news through Twitter and said he is willing to take up any role that the BJP leadership chooses for him.

Amid speculations of change in the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday, November 15 confirmed Tarkishore Prasad Singh being elected as the leader of the party.

The former deputy chief minister of Bihar shared the news through Twitter. Modi further said that he is willing to take up any role that the BJP leadership chooses for him. 

"In 40 years of my political life, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar have given me more than any other person would have got. I will discharge the responsibility of whatever role the party seems fit to give me. No one can take away my post as a party worker," wrote  Sushil Modi on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday elected JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar as the leader of NDA legislature party at a meeting in Patna. Kumar is set to become the next Chief Minister of Bihar for the fourth straight term. Nitish Kumar will take oath on Monday (November 16) at 11:30 AM at Governor's House in Patna. 

In the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, the BJP had won 74 seats, JD-U 43, while eight seats were won by other NDA constituents. The NDA combined won 125 seats, which is three more than the majority mark in the 243-strong Bihar assembly.

Tejashwi Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) emerged as the single largest party in the state with 75 seats. It's Mahagathbandhan partners Congress got 19 seats, CPI 2, CPM 2 and CPI (M-L) 12.
